Don’t play kingmaker. If a team or side in a multiplayer game is obviously going to win, do not play kingmaker. Don’t join up when there’s no benefit for you to do so. If the game is zero…
Honestly i agree with you for most part but do YOU really want help gangbang the player with most stuff because once they are out the guy building his resources while you all do this is just gonna come through swingin. Ib group games i love to spread the hate i may win but i last almost to the end.

But… They do. They have done so for all of Magic, actually (13+ years). Here’s the quote out of the Comp. Rules:
506.4b. Tapping or untapping a creature that’s already been declared as an attacker or blocker doesn’t remove it from combat and doesn’t prevent its combat damage.
